Description

During February 2016, the Iraq Internally Displaced Persons Information Centre (Iraq IIC) handled a record 3,143 calls, pushing the total number of calls handled since the call centre’s launch past the 10,000 mark. By the end of February, 99.2% of all cases were classified as closed.

During this latest reporting cycle, the Iraq IIC handled a dramatic rise in the number of calls from Kirkuk, from 184 in January to 945 in February, representing 30% of all callers. Callers from Kirkuk were primarily interested in issues relating to government assistance (largely cash grants), with requests for cash and shelter assistance from the humanitarian community ranking as second and third priorities respectively.
